TPU Flex Filament D60 - UV Resistant
Eolas Prints TPU Flex D60 UV Resistant is the firmest and most outdoor-capable grade in our flexible filament range. At Shore D60, it sits between a soft elastomer and a rigid engineering material — durable enough for high-wear outdoor applications, flexible enough to absorb impact and vibration. Its certified UV stabilisation and hydrolysis resistance make it the right choice for parts that will be permanently installed outside.
Key Properties
| Shore hardness | D60 — firm, structured flexibility |
| UV resistance | Certified — colour and structure stable after extended outdoor exposure |
| Hydrolysis resistance | Yes — suitable for marine and wet environments |
| Microbial resistance | Yes |
| Low-temperature flexibility | Yes — remains flexible in cold conditions |
| Density | 1.21 g/cm³ |
| Diameter tolerance | ±0.08 mm |
Shore Hardness in Context
D60 is the firmest TPU grade Eolas Prints offers. Compared to our other grades: D53 feels like a soft rubber eraser, 93A feels like a car tyre, and D60 feels like a hard rubber sole. Choose D60 when you need a flexible material that resists UV, weathering, and wear — not when softness or skin contact is the priority.
Extruder Compatibility
D60 is compatible with direct drive extruders and short Bowden setups (tube under 400mm, tight PTFE connections, no gaps). It is the only TPU grade in our range that can be reliably used in a Bowden configuration. Bambu Lab AMS is not compatible with TPU — load D60 via the external spool holder.
Recommended Print Settings
| Nozzle temperature | 225–240°C |
| Bed temperature | 50–60°C |
| Print speed | 20–40 mm/s |
| Retraction | 1–2 mm |
| Cooling fan | 60–80% |
| Extruder | Direct drive or short Bowden (under 400mm) |
Drying Before Printing
Like all TPU grades, D60 is hygroscopic. Dry at 50–60°C for 4–8 hours if the spool has been open for more than a few days. Store in a sealed container or dry box with silica gel desiccant between sessions.
Recommended Applications
- Marine and nautical accessories — cleats, fenders, cable glands, hose connectors
- Automotive exterior components — mud flaps, vibration dampeners, trim seals
- Garden and outdoor fixtures — irrigation fittings, flexible brackets, tool grips
- Industrial outdoor seals and gaskets exposed to UV and weathering
- Solar panel edge protectors and flexible mounting components
- Sporting and outdoor equipment — ski boot components, helmet padding, protective covers
Manufactured in Spain
TPU Flex D60 UV Resistant is manufactured at Eolas Prints' facility in Cantabria, Spain, under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Available in 1.75mm and 2.85mm in Black and White.
