PLA Ingeo 870 Filament
Eolas Prints PLA Ingeo 870 is a high-performance, high-impact PLA filament engineered for demanding applications. Based on NatureWorks Ingeo 870 resin, it combines the ease of printing of standard PLA with thermal resistance that rivals ABS — reaching over 85°C after a simple annealing process.
Key Properties
| Heat deflection temperature (annealed) | 85°C+ (after 15–20 min at 120°C) |
| Heat deflection temperature (unannealed) | ~55°C |
| Impact resistance | High — significantly tougher than standard PLA |
| Density | 1.24 g/cm³ |
| Shrinkage (annealing) | ~1–2% — design accordingly |
| Shrinkage (printing) | Low — excellent dimensional stability |
| Base resin | NatureWorks Ingeo 3D870 |
| Eco-friendly | Derived from renewable resources (corn starch / sugarcane) |
| Diameter tolerance | ±0.05 mm |
Recommended Print Settings
| Nozzle temperature | 195–220°C |
| Bed temperature | 0–50°C |
| Print speed | 40–80 mm/s |
| Cooling fan | 80–100% after first layer |
| Enclosure | Not required |
| Diameter tolerance | ±0.05 mm |
Annealing Process
Place finished prints on a flat surface in an oven at 120°C for 15–20 minutes. This controlled crystallisation raises the heat deflection temperature to over 85°C and increases impact resilience by approximately 15% compared to standard PLA. Allow to cool slowly inside the oven. Parts shrink approximately 1–2% during annealing — compensate by designing slightly oversized.
Recommended Applications
- Functional prototypes requiring heat resistance
- End-use parts exposed to elevated temperatures
- Mechanical components and fixtures
- Automotive interior parts
- Consumer products requiring durability and precision
Manufactured in Spain
Manufactured at Eolas Prints' facility in Cantabria, Spain, under ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. Available in 1.75mm and 2.85mm in Black, White, and Grey.
