Bambu Lab A1

The Bambu Lab A1 is an open-frame, beginner-friendly 3D printer built for speed, ease of use, and vibrant multi-colour printing. Available as a standalone printer or as the A1 Combo bundled with the AMS (Automatic Material System) for effortless multi-colour prints — up to 4 colours per job.

The A1 uses a bed-slinger design (the build plate moves along the Y-axis while the toolhead handles X and Z), which keeps the machine compact, cost-effective, and easy to maintain. Unlike Bambu Lab's enclosed printers, the A1 is open-frame — ideal for PLA, PETG, TPU, and PLA-CF, and a natural choice for anyone starting out in 3D printing or printing in a well-ventilated space.

  • Build volume: 256 × 256 × 256 mm
  • Speed: up to 500 mm/s peak / 10,000 mm/s² acceleration
  • Extruder: direct drive with all-metal hotend
  • Nozzle: 300°C, tool-free quick-swap magnetic mount
  • Bed: 100°C dual-sided magnetic flexible PEI plate, auto-levelling
  • Screen: 2.7" colour touchscreen
  • Multi-colour: up to 4 colours with AMS (included in A1 Combo)
  • Monitoring: built-in camera for remote viewing and timelapse
  • Calibration: fully automatic — bed levelling, flow dynamics, vibration compensation
  • Connectivity: dual-band Wi-Fi, Bambu Studio, Bambu Handy app
  • Setup time: under 15 minutes out of the box

A1 Combo includes the AMS — Bambu Lab's Automatic Material System for seamless filament switching across up to 4 colours or materials in a single print. Perfect for colour-coded models, dual-material functional parts, or multi-filament artistic pieces.

Compatible filaments: PLA, PETG, TPU, PLA-CF, PLA Silk, and other filaments up to 300°C. Not designed for high-temperature engineering filaments (ABS, ASA, PA, PC) — for those, see the Bambu Lab P2S or H2S.

Fast, reliable, and genuinely simple to use, the Bambu Lab A1 is the ideal first Bambu printer — or a dedicated machine for high-volume PLA and PETG printing alongside an existing setup.
