3DMakerpro Whale 3D Scanner
The 3DMakerPro Whale is a high-performance handheld 3D scanner for ultra-large objects. Scanning from 500mm up to 3 metres with 0.20mm accuracy at 10fps, the Whale handles full vehicles, large industrial machinery, architectural elements, and oversized sculptures that exceed the range of standard handheld scanners. It is the right tool when the object to be digitised is simply too large for any other scanner in the 3DMakerPro range.

500mm to 3m — When the Object Is the Constraint
The Whale's 500mm–3m range covers digitisation tasks that are simply not possible with smaller scanners. A complete vehicle body, a large CNC machine, a full-scale statue, an industrial mould or die — these objects require the Whale's wider standoff distance and field of view. The 0.20mm accuracy delivers data precise enough for CAD comparison, quality inspection, and reverse engineering at this scale. For applications where a 1mm or 2mm error would be acceptable (visual digital twins, exhibition models, general spatial capture), the Whale provides excellent scan quality at a very fast working pace.
Designed for On-Site Scanning
Objects in the Whale's size range rarely come to the scanner — the scanner goes to them. Its handheld form factor, USB power, and robust construction make it practical for factory floors, outdoor environments, and large workshop spaces where the object cannot be moved to a controlled scanning station. The markerless tracking system maintains position during the continuous movement required when walking around a full vehicle or large machine.
JMStudio Software
JMStudio handles the large point clouds generated by Whale scans — real-time display, frame alignment, hole filling, and mesh optimisation before export to OBJ, STL, or PLY. Large scan files from full-vehicle captures are managed efficiently without requiring specialist high-memory workstations for most workflows.
